This class introduces yoga as support for the health and wellbeing of dancers. We will practice both vinyasa and yin styles and take time for self reflection with sharing.
Yoga offers dancers the benefits of greater strength, flexibility, joint stability and focus. In vinyasa we feel the strength and coordination of the body. In yin the fascia releases and we feel the body open. Overall we build awareness of the body, mind and breathe. Dancers can afterwards enjoy more freedom, fluidity and control in motion.
Yoga teaches us to build a positive relationship to ourselves and each other just as we are. It provides tools for managing mental health and it is often leading to more positive thinking and calmness. So why not try yoga!
